PRINCIPLES

XSOS is a reality and principle based system. Learning techniques by the numbers or by a name such as techniques #14 or "claw of the tiger" will not adequately prepare you for the unchoregraphed reality of real and violent street attacks. To be truly prepared and effective for a street encounter you must understand, apply, and exercise these principles. If forced to fight they will be your path to victory.

MY GOAL IS TO MAKE YOU THINK

XSOS Principles (not in any particular order)

  • Your primary weapon is your brain (moves your body).
  • Your secondary weapon is your body (your tools).
  • Never turn your back on your attacker.
  • Learn to fight up close and personal (face to face) with your attacker - bite, punch, rip & tear, bend fingers, stab him what ever it takes - do it! It's either you or him period!
  • Know your primary danger.
  • Relax, breath, and defeat (decreases stress and increases performance).
  • Keep moving, don't stand still.
  • Always plan and prepare for lethal armed conflicts.
  • Try and move to the outside. This is a proven military combat tactic (also good if your fighting multiple attackers).
  • Be the hunter not the "hunted".
  • When executing a take down, listen and feel where your attacker wants to go. Do not resist their movements. Let their momentum take them there.
  • Stun or incapacitate your attacker - you will weaken his structure and he will concentrate more on his pain instead of retaliation.
  • Know your targets, vital areas, and nerve centers.
  • Know your weapons.
  • Train to reach your control points. (front - side- rear) and apply your options.
  • Learn to shift from one control point to another control point if needed.
  • If your attacker grabs you - look at it as if he gave you a gift.
  • The weapon is not the threat - it's the attacker who is using it.
  • Instead of practicing 1-2-3 - say eyes - neck - knee to face.
  • Your attacker hands & head will go where the pain is - use this to your advantage. It is hard to think about retaliation when you're thinking about your own pain.
  • Get rid of intimidation and look at the targets.
  • Sometime you will force the action - example - if you escape route is behind your attacker.
  • Continue your attack until you're out of the danger zone or he is incapacitated.
  • Do not be motivated to protect yourself - be motivated to hunt your attacker (there is a difference).
  • Your adrenaline is the greatest equalizer when you use it correctly.
  • Never leave a violent threat capable of continuing - you must inflict maximum damage.
  • Be a complete fighter - have striking skills, low kicking skills, and ground fighting skills.
  • Strike First - Surprise attack have an offensive mindset - It's the shortest road to victory in a street attack. The victory is almost always determined in one to five seconds and he is usually the one who attacks first.
  • Perfect Intention - is for more important than perfect technique.
  • No Defense - Offense only - If you must check, make that check your first offensive move and go for your objective. You cannot be defensive in a street fight. You can get hurt and your done. Your mindset must be offensive at all times.
  • Train for Reality - All moves are geared for actual combat.
  • Be Aware of your surroundings - Look for escape routes, and weapons.
  • Keep it Simple - Low kicks, chokes and straight strikes.
  • React! Don't Talk, Bluff or Threaten, if an attack is evident, Act and Act Immediately! And do no stop until it is safe for you.
  • Expect to be hit, kicked or cut. Be mentally prepared to receive a blow or cut. In a street fight if what you fear most is injury to yourself you will not have the determination to escape an attack.
  • Be alert for trouble at all times. Expect the unexpected.
  • Mentally review and practice street defense - visualization works.
  • Keep in good physical condition be in better shape than your attacker.
  • Your favorite technique is the one you're doing at the time.
  • Take action the moment you are touched.
  • Prevail at all cost use whatever it takes to survive, without any mental reservations.
  • Prioritize - To escape and survive must always supersede the fear of injury.
  • Reduce your fear by having absolute focus on the strikes of targets (not techniques). Don't let your mind 'Pause' even for one second it could be fatal. Fear is not the enemy, hesitation is.
  • Violence is random; you can never train for the threat you may someday be forced with. Anything can happen.

Fight-Fit will teach you in the shortest possible time how to prepare for any violent attack
